Trained as a sculptor and graduating in Fine Arts, Nadiah Bamadhaj has created a unique and striking method of sculptural drawing. She also has a repertoire of video and print works. Her research-driven themes and emotional responses are impressively connected and assembled throughout her series of installations and site-specific works, where layers of meaning across techniques come together exquisitely to exemplify her intellectual prowess. Being in constant evolution, Nadiah Bamadhaj is not easy to delineate as an artist, but her definition of art is clear: “My role is to document my personal and political history. That’s what art is to me. That’s what I do”.
