Cartier. Islamic Inspiration and Modern Design

The exhibition “Cartier, Islamic Art and Modernity” and its catalogue explore the influence of Islamic art on the production of jewellery and precious objects by Cartier from the early 20th century to the present day. This rich presentation of the Cartier collection, masterpieces of Islamic art, photographs and archive documents traces the diversity of sources that inspired the creations of this iconic house. Motifs and forms from the arts and architecture of Islam are now an integral part of the repertoire of the house, which never ceases to reinterpret them.
