Jacques Cordier (1937–1975) is a figurative painter whose work was first shown at Parisian Salons, then in galleries in Paris, Saint-Tropez, and Italy. Thanks to the support of loyal collectors, his renown spread internationally before a tragic death put an abrupt end to his creativity. Trained in Paris in accordance with the precepts of the Return to Order, his work underwent a major revolution when he moved to Saint-Tropez, where he followed the footsteps of the Fauvists and Post-Impressionists. By bringing together his paintings and drawings, this catalogue raisonné pays tribute to his singular and original oeuvre.
