The contemporary work of art, being new, should be “safe” and present fewer restoration problems than an antique, hence “old” one. This volume, through never published conference proceedings held at Castello di Rivoli in 1987 and in 2012, demonstrates quite the contrary, revealing the matters due to the inner fragility of a modern work of art.
