Born in 1989 in Lagos, Nigeria, Marcellina Akpojotor began her artistic journey under her father’s guidance, later studying Art and Industrial Design at Lagos State Polytechnic. Her work, blending collaging with traditional painting, explores themes of culture, identity, and feminism. She uses discarded Ankara fabric to create richly textured, layered compositions, developing a compelling and colourful visual imagery. Marcellina Akpojotor’s art has been exhibited globally.
