This book illustrates through typologies and “schools of thought” the collection held at Villa Menafoglio at Biumo Superiore: from Minimalist art, represented by Dan Flavin, Conceptual art by Ian Wilson, and Environmental art of Turrell, Irwin and Nordman, to works exploring color by Roeth, Fredenthal, Simpson, Sims, Spalletti and Arends, and the “vital form” with examples by Graham, Kiecol, Puryear, and Highstein, as well as Max Cole, Meg Webster and Ford Beckman. The final part of the work gives an account of the history of the collection, of loans to important Italian museums and of exhibitions organized by the collector and held in the contemporary art museums of Los Angeles, Madrid and Bilbao.
